Spring Farm Tour - Thursday, my sister texted me to ask what Beth and I were doing for our 45th wedding anniversary Saturday? My reply was delivering nutritious pasture-raised protein to our Coast Route customers Saturday with a 70% chance of rain. It's hard to believe it has been 45 years - never would I (we) have thought we would be farming, processing, delivering, etc. pasture-raised, nutrient-dense beef, pork, chicken, turkey, and eggs to over 300 customers each month. What a blessing to have Beth work alongside me and support what we do. Speaking of time, can you believe it is already March? Spring is my favorite time of the year. Trees are budding out. The grass is growing so fast you can almost see it. And, the cows are calving. ![]() This oak tree stands in the paddock near our corral. I estimate it would take three people standing hand in hand to reach around the trunk. This tree is always the first to leaf out and the last to drop leaves in the fall. There is no telling how old it is, but we are very careful not to disturb anything that might damage it. ![]() This group of Mayhaw trees are loaded down with blooms. My dad's favorite jelly was Mayhaw and he was extra careful to make sure his Mayhaw trees were taken care of. This year looks like it could be a bumper crop - pending a late season freeze. Let's hope not. ![]() In closing, here is a comment I left on Joel Salatin's Lunaticfarmer.com site regarding MAHA, Trump's EO, and glyphosate:
"Those who put their trust in a politician, bureaucracy, big business will ALWAYS be disappointed. Frankly, the solution is simple - consumers are 97% of the population. IF (yes, complicated) consumers refused to buy ANY PRODUCT in the supply chain that was raised with glyphosate would soon make it obsolete." ** Product Availability Update **
