Beef Restock: every couple of months our beef cut/pack restock falls just before our Jackson Metro delivery. That was the case for September. What this means is this route order deadline ends on Wednesday and we do not complete beef processing so we can restock until late Thursday. That leaves about a third of our customers without the same access to placing orders as everyone else.

So, Beth & I thought the fair thing to do was hold restock until Sunday after all delivery locations are open for orders. NOTE- that we will most likely slice and pack bacon Sunday and then add all products at the same time.

Thanksgiving Turkeys & Smoked Hams:

Last year we ordered freshly frozen turkeys from Joe’s Farm in MI. He raises them on pasture just like we do and only feeds them Non-GMO turkey feed – same as NGF. And everyone loved them.

So, we have ordered another 60 Thanksgiving turkeys from Joe’s Farm. I received word this week that they are processed and ready to ship by sprinter van. Not sure the exact delivery yet, but will setup our store to accept Pre-orders just like we did last year. Delivery to customers will start after we receive them, but not later than Thanksgiving.

Smoked hams are a Thanksgiving favorite along with the centerpiece turkey. We have some in inventory now and will process smoked hams from pigs we harvest in October – inventory to be ready for November delivery routes.

Part 1 of 4 Dr. Casey Means: So, why are we always stocked out?

When I talk with other farmers they are having the same issue – more business than they can do and the demand keeps growing. The driving factor is folks are more aware that the “food” is the problem. Folks are looking for clean, healthy food.
Have you heard of Dr. Casey Means? My first experience was a month ago when she and her brother Calley were on TCN. The podcast was over 2-hours long, but very informative. There have been over 3 million views. You can watch it from this link.

Casey Means, MD is a Stanford-trained physician, Chief Medical Officer and Co-founder of metabolic health company Levels, and Associate Editor of the International Journal of Disease Reversal and Prevention. Her mission is to maximize human potential and reverse the epidemic of preventable chronic disease by empowering individuals with tech-enabled tools that can inform smart, personalized, and sustainable dietary and lifestyle choices.

Dr. Means published her book titled “Good Energy” on May 9th, 2024 that became an instant #1 New York Times bestseller.

"In Good Energy, Dr. Means challenges the conventional dogma of healthcare and presents a compelling case for a metabolic-focused approach to longevity, health, and weight management. Good Energy is full of actionable steps to be mentally and physically strong, and revitalize your life.”

Recently, she was on Megyn Kelly YouTube. The interview is in four parts. The first part is titled “Our Medical Establishment Has “Intentional Blindspot” For What Can Help Americans.” You can watch from this link.

I’ll leave you with this. One of my new customers sent me this notice today. Monday at 1pm, the following folks will testify at a Senate nonpartisan roundtable to include Alex Clark who is a huge raw milk activist. Suppose to air on CNN.

Emotional Week = Short Newsletter

Difficult Week – About six weeks ago Beth’s mom Jackie found out her cancer had returned. Her condition worsened very fast and she passed away early Tuesday morning. Beth had been staying with her most of the last two weeks. Her funeral was Friday morning. Working with our team we were able to process chicken Tuesday & Wednesday mornings and post inventory. We also processed 8 pigs the afternoon of those two days and posted the fresh pork items. I want to express how much we appreciate our team who stepped up and did extra to support our farm and lessen the burden on Beth.

My Customer Response

Food deserts are regions where people have limited access to healthful and affordable food. This may be due to having a low income or having to travel farther to find healthful food options. Without access to healthful foods, people living in food deserts may be at higher risk of diet-related conditions, such as obesity, diabetes, cardiovascular disease, and micro-nutrient deficiencies. Medical News Today I would offer additional considerations to include: 1. In 2016 a study was made that determined MS imports $8.5 billion dollars worth of food. That was more than a billion greater than farm commodity crops generated in sales that year.

A Reason For Hope

A Reason For Hope - This newsletter has been hard to put together – so many different yet related inputs it has been difficult to keep the focus corralled and the length within reason. So, I will simply use a few excerpts from a recent podcast with Dr. Mark Hyman on TCN. The FACTS are clear – Centralized, Cheap, Commodity, Processed, and etc. food (as it is called – not what Webster calls food) is a complete FAILURE. FAILURE is across all races, includes male & females, and income levels. However, lower income levels are affected at a higher level and the Southeast US is also higher. FAILURE is not only in physical health with the increase in chronic diseases, but also mental health
