We Have Amazing Customers - Last week's newsletter was all about asking our customers to help our farm by adding Eggs, Sausages, and Leg Quarters to their order. The reason for the request was to generate sales between various cuts of the chicken and pig that typically sell slower than other cuts - and our Amazing Customers answered the call. By Tuesday the leg quarters were sold out - 40 bundles and 120 individual packs. A lot of various sausages were purchased. And a lot of eggs were bought as well. We still have sausages (and trim available to make 1,000 pounds or so more) and plenty of eggs. Our egg sales to Corner Market have slowed which it sometimes will when school is out. We hope our route customers can pick up their slack over the next few months so we do not have to cull too many hens.
Eggs are the hardest item to manage. Inventory can go from Feast to Famine depending on what customers are doing.
We want to express our gratitude and thankfulness to each of you who stepped up and helped out. As you know, supporting a small farm family business is much different than supporting large corporations. We depend on your repeat business to stay in business. Thank you! ❤
Some interesting comments about last week's newsletter:
* For the first time our newsletter topped over 3,500 recipients
* Open rate dropped from >60% average to about 50% - about 240 less folks opened last week's newsletter
* Unsubscribe rate was 6 subscribers -- slightly higher than typical. Most of these have never made a purchase
-when people unsubscribe we Deactivate their account so we are not charged for them by Drip
* Our Coast route Saturday will be our largest number of orders. Includes 11 first-time buyers and some returning customers who had not made a purchase in years
Uninvited Farm Visitor - you may remember a few weeks back I shared some pictures of recent uninvited farm visitors. Well, today's visitor tops all prior visitors. Most likely the heavy rains moved them our way - he was found at the pond located in the pasture where our cows and calves are.

WOW! Yep, that is my thoughts exactly. 😃
Farm Artifacts - Monday while Will was moving our mama cows & calves he looked down and found this arrowhead next to one of the cow paths. It is as close to perfect as I have ever seen. Then, Wednesday when Ethan Welford was here helping with beef & pork harvest I showed the arrowhead to him because I knew he spends a lot of time looking for them and knows alot about arrowheads.

Ethan directed me to this website
that helps folks to date arrowheads based on a lot of different criteria. I had no idea nor thought there could be so many different versions of arrowheads.
Anyway, a very cool find! I wonder what else is lying out there from our past?
