Your Help Is Needed

Your Help Is Needed - No doubt the biggest hurdle for us to manage day in and day out is product inventory!

One of the advantages to having our on-farm processing plant is the ability to shift cut selection/packaging basically the day of vs. two weeks or more prior when using a third-party processor. Not only does this help us meet customer expectations, but we are also better able to keep product fresh. Our objective is to have minimum inventory carryover when we restock.

However, this is a constant struggle. Customers relocate, go on vacations, holidays, have seasonal needs or buying habits, schools in (or out). The list goes on. We understand this and know it is part of the service when providing product directly to customers.

Here's where I'm going with this! We currently have three products that we need your buying help. They are eggs, chicken leg quarters, and pork sausage.

Eggs first. Our hens are loving this weather. The cooler nights and cloudy days motivate them to lay - and lay they are. Did you know that as a hen ages her eggs become larger? It's true. And sometimes they will go from medium eggs to X-Large eggs in a short period of time. That is why you will see medium egg inventory spike and then crater while the XL and Jumbo inventory increases.

Currently, we have an abundance of eggs and need your help to add some extra eggs to your order this month. We made a last minute request to our Jackson Route in May and they added 5 extra cases worth. After all, our pastured eggs are full of nutrition, taste amazing, and are a great value.

Next is chicken leg quarters. The most popular cut from our chicken is the breast. However, when you cut up the chicken, for every pack of breast you also get a pack of leg quarters. We understand folks have their preferences - breast or leg quarter, but it leaves us in a dilemma when leg quarter sales lag breast sales.

Obviously, the whole chicken is raised here on our farm, enjoys a life on pasture with fresh air, sunshine (well not much sunshine lately lol), clean water, Non-GMO feed, grasses, and bugs to eat. That is what makes our whole chicken a very nutrient-dense source of protein, great tasting, and with the bundle price of $6.50/lb makes our leg quarters an exceptional value.

Leg quarters are our favorite when cooked on the grill with Bar-B-Que sauce. Imagine the sizzle, the aroma when opening the lid to turn the quarters over, and the juicy tenderness meat that is sure to please your family.

So, we are asking you to consider adding a Leg Quarter Bundle(s) to your June order. We have about 300 packs in stock.

Last is we need your help with pork sausages! Trim used to make sausages typically come from the areas of other cuts that were "trimmed' off typically for aesthetic reasons. However, when hams are out of season then this meat is also used to make sausages. Hams are probably 35% or more of the weight of a pig and can really increase the amount of trim available.

Everyone loves bacon. Unfortunately, God did not make the pig with only bacon or pork chops 😃. And, for some reason, folks are not buying enough of our sausages to use up the trim from our pigs proportionate to bacon and pork chop sales. What we need is more customers regularly buying our sausages!

This is a picture of some of our pigs on our diverse forage pasture enjoying their pig life the way God intended. Did you know research has confirmed that animals raised on a diverse forage pasture provide a much higher nutrient-dense protein than those raised in a confined animal feeding operation?

Here is a picture of pigs raised in a CAFO. Which option - pasture or CAFO - do you believe is healthier for the pig? How about healthier for you and your family? As the saying goes, "you are what your food eats".

Additionally, the value of our pigs also include no vaccines - unlike CAFO where numerous vaccines are given including mRNA. And, our pigs, in addition to a diverse forage pasture diet are supplemented with a Non-GMO feed vs. a conventional pig whose diet is GMO ONLY feed that has been sprayed with harmful chemicals.

So, if you are currently buying our sausage, let me say thank you. However, if you are not a regular customer of our sausage choices I would like to encourage you to come taste the difference and enjoy a clean nutrient-dense protein. We have numerous flavors to choose from and NONE of our seasonings include MSG like most value-priced sausages.

So, maybe you can add a few "extra" packs of sausage to your order this month. Beth just smoked about 250 pounds Friday that will be added to our store Saturday afternoon, all processed on our new equipment.

Nature's Gourmet Farm product value proposition is to create a community that evolves around one of the most intrinsically important and critical needs of the ages, and that’s the provision of sustenance. That's our passion - to raise healthy animals to provide nutrient dense protein and saturated fat that nourish families and strengthens immune systems.

Our Beef is always grass finished with NO grains. Additionally, our animals are free of mRNA, GMO's (chemicals), Antibiotics, and Hormones. We ethically raise them on diverse forage pastures that regenerates our soils and protects our ecosystem.

Let me encourage you to "Be The Change" our food system needs by "Voting With Your Fork" at every meal.
