Good Morning from your farmer,

This week I want to use this space to share the Moffetts' introduction of their "NEW" farm "Covenant Heritage Farm" in Perkins, MS. So, sit back and enjoy as McKenzie shares their story and this new journey.

When we discovered Nature’s Gourmet Farm in 2020, we had no idea the impact that our dear farmers, Ben and Beth, would have on our family’s personal journey toward a better, healthier future. While it seems now to be a somewhat natural progression of our story (read more about that on our website here), what began as simply looking for more localized food sources, grew into a passion for a life built around homesteading, sustainably and regeneratively growing/producing our food, and seeking to steward both our bodies and the natural resources God’s creation provides us with to the very best of our ability.

One of our core beliefs at Covenant Heritage Farm is that humans are made in God’s image, and as such our bodies should be treated with the utmost care — this includes both what we feed our bodies as fuel and the products we use on our bodies, which are increasingly being shown to have at least as much of an impact on our overall health as what we’re putting in our bodies. In a world where our collective health is decaying at a rapid pace with a skyrocketing chronic disease burden, 1 in 6 individuals now experiencing infertility, rates of incidence of cancer and neurodegenerative disease both outpacing the generations that have come before us, and a total metabolic disease crisis — something must change.

We have personally experienced some of the most harsh realities of the declining health our nation is facing, and as such, we are passionate about education and solutions, and we hope we can be just one small part of that through our current small shop offerings of tallow-based skincare products featuring only the highest quality ingredients, with Nature’s Gourmet Farm’s grass-fed and finished tallow exclusively starring in all of our skincare products. All products are made by hand on our farm and shipped directly to you (for free!). We hope that you will partner with us as we seek to offer products you can truly feel good about purchasing and using for your family.

Please visit our website at www.covenantheritagefarm.com to read more about us, learn about the many benefits of grass-fed and finished tallow products, and sign up to be notified when we’re open for orders in the coming weeks!

At Nature's Gourmet Farm, our intent is to create a community that evolves around one of the most intrinsically important things of the ages, and that’s the provision of sustenance. That's our passion - to raise healthy food to nourish families and strengthen immune systems.

If you are new to our farm then maybe you have been looking for premium ALL NATURAL GOODNESS of beef, pork, chicken, and eggs raised on pasture as God intended - with emphasis on Regenerative Principles and NOT conventionally raised animals (with growth hormones, drugs, chemicals, and antibiotics) - and where animals are treated humanely - then you have come to the right farm. Farm Improvements

Farm Improvements – Fresh water is a necessity for raising healthy animals on pasture. Until recently, we used an ICB tote on a small tralier that we would refill from our well. During the summer the frequency greatly increases in order to keep the chickens hydrated. So, I called my buddy at Southern Pipe and ordered pipe, fittings, etc. and then rented a trencher for May 16th to install 2,700 feet of 1.25 inch PVC pipe. Along the line we added 15 Plasson Quick Coupler Valves that we will hook to as we move the animals through our pastures.

My Advise How To Jump Start Small Farms In Mississippi

“Who controls the food supply controls the people; who controls the energy can control whole continents; who controls money can control the world.” — Henry Kissinger The fight to change food from addictive to nutritive will most likely be harder than the fight regarding tobacco (smoking) in public places that started back in the 1980’s. Note that my comments are NOT a condemnation of anybody who may use tobacco in any way as this can be a sensitive topic. However, it is personal to me as my Dad smoked at least 45 of his 75 years and died of lung cancer.

Small Farm Republic

Pasture Talk With Our Cows– Tuesday morning I was out checking on our cows and took the opportunity to record a short 2-minute story about the time I saved the life of one of the “pet” cows Number 608. Click to watch here. Small Farm Republic- is a book written by John Klar. A former attorney who contracted Lyme disease, John now farms in Vermont. I spent much of last weekend reading his book. He is very pro-small farms and presented a lot of evidence to support his position. On page 77 he makes a comparison to the number of farms and farmers during the Great Depression versus today. During the Great Depression the American population was 100 million. According to USDA charts
