It's About The WHY!

We really enjoy what we do. And are blessed to be able to steward the land and animals to the best of our ability the way God intended.

To be a Regenerative Farmer is really cool! I can't imagine farming any other way.

To build bioreactors, extract and apply biology back into the soil to stimulate life that will feed the plants that in-turn feeds the animals is really awesome.

To raise animals out on pasture where they are able to live their life to the fullness - grazing diverse plant species and returning much of the nutrients back to the soil through their dung and urine. This includes those cold winter morning out haying the cows. Taking the time to unroll the bales across the ground not worrying about waste that will only further soil health.

To protect the thousands of insect populations that do their work to help hold our ecosystem together. I.E. to work with nature and NOT against nature.

To be able to harvest our beef, pork, chicken, and eggs. To pack orders and deliver to customers.

And the many other tasks we find ourselves doing each week.

But, you know, these tasks only represent the what
we do and the how we do them.

Most important is the WHY! The why is to provide healthy, nutrient dense food without all the commercial additives to our customers.

Some of our customers invest in their health to help prevent serious diseases, etc. While other customers invest to help restore their health.

Here are comments three customers shared with us this past week:

Todd, a relatively new customer, was second in line Saturday. As he approached me he was pointing his finger towards me and stated "I want you to know (by now I was expecting something negative - not the positive that followed lol) how important your meat is to people. I've lost about 200 lbs.; I'm off my blood pressure medicine; I'm off my diabetic medication - my cholesterol is down so I'm not on a statin. All I have done is switched to your meat and eliminated seed oils from my diet.

As I write this I wondered if the added food expense off set the cost of prior medicine and doctor bills. I am sure his quality of life is better.

Another customer made a brief statement that she is feeling better since eating our products. I looked up her order status and she has made 15 orders in the past 16 months. Very consistent month to month.

Stephen sent me this email in a reply to my "Tough Time To Be A Farmer" newsletter: "I don’t want to ever read that you are shutting down. If you ever need us to pre-pay for future purchases to get you over a hump, we will. We could pay for a years worth of stuff, up front, if you ever need us to.

We would also join as a membership (like Costco), whatever it takes to smooth it out for you. We remember when your inventory went to zero. That’s why we buy something every month whether we need it or not. We want you thriving!"

And there are many many more customers who have shared similar testimonies. Thanks to each of you for sharing your Why.

Frankly, many customers feel that anything you can do that builds or strengthens your immune system is an investment and not an expense.

That's our Why! To help families that are committed to healthy, regenerative food for their families.

Maybe you have been looking for premium ALL NATURAL GOODNESS of beef, pork, chicken, and eggs raised on pasture as God intended - with emphasis on Regenerative Principles and NOT conventionally raised animals (with growth hormones, drugs, chemicals, and antibiotics) - and where animals are treated humanely - then you have come to the right farm. Our delivery schedule and product availability is listed below along with order buttons that will take you to our website where you can browse over 90 product choices and place your order from the convenience of your home. It's that simple!

Lastly, Beth & I thank you for trusting us with your food dollars.

Cows & Pigs

Brand New Services– About six weeks ago Dixie Electric Power installed a brand new electric line with poles down my road. They replaced the old copper lines with aluminum and the poles are much better quality and taller. I asked the district manager when was the old copper line installed and he said since electric service was available for us… so, maybe since the mid 1940’s? Then, this week our complete road was blacktopped!!! If you have visited our farm you know it was long overdue. For years it has been patched to the point where the patches had patches. Hahaha

Clean and Cold | Adorable Calves

New Calves On Our Farm– Sometime in April we call our vet and schedule a breeding soundness exam for our bulls. This is before we add our bulls to our cow herd May 1st each year. Our oldest bull, affectionately named “Ole Man” by the guys here, was born on our farm the Spring of 2016.

New Pullets | Calves | Job Opening

Pullets arrived March 1st– every 6 months we receive a fresh batch of pullets. This year we were not sure if our late February to early March batch would be available…even though we ordered them last September. However, mostly since we have done business with the same farmer since the Spring of 2017, he prioritized our order and delivered them March 1st. While the price was higher, I was braced for a much higher price. Our pullets are typically 17 weeks old when delivered. They will start laying at about 24 weeks. That means we should start seeing medium eggs by our May delivery dates. YEAH!
