Tips To Lower Meal Cost @ NGF – last week we shared our value proposition centered around our products. Our beef, pork, chickens, layers, turkeys, lamb, etc. are all raised on diverse pasture just like God intended and WITHOUT harmful chemicals Our feed for layers, chickens, pigs, and turkeys is all NON-GMO and does not contain glyphosate. This means our meats are rich in nutrients essential for healthy adults and children. Our model is directly opposite from the Confined Animal Feeding Operation (CAFO).

The first tip is to consider buying in bulk. For example, have you considered savings from buying a half beef? We will harvest our last Custom Processed half beef orders for 2025 on November 4th. Order deadline will be October 28th. Pickup will be just before Thanksgiving. Not only do you enjoy savings, but you choose how you want your order cut and packaged to fit your family's needs. Many customers tell us how nice it is to have a freezer full of beef during uncertain times.

Tip #2 Only our beef has increased in price due to tight supply and Mexico import restrictions due to the screwworm. That means our pork, chicken, and lamb prices have not increased in a long time.

Surprisingly, customers have been slow to buy our Pork Boston Butts lately. Pork Butts are basically a roast so anything you can do with a beef roast you can do with a pork roast and save $2.48 per pound or almost $7.50 per roast. Additionally, many folks will use BB for pulled pork sandwiches - a great nutritious choice vs. typical packaged thin-sliced ham with many ingredients and preservatives added. Choosing our BB vs. typical packaged meat also saves you about $2.50 per pound.

Tip #3 Have you considered blending ground beef with ground pork? We have had numerous customers tell us about this over the years. One customer would fix burgers for his military section with ground beef and pork from our farm. He said it was always a hit - he would never share his ingredients with them. Ground pork is $3.95 per pound less than ground beef. Just saying! 😀

Tip #4 Rotisserie chicken. Take a whole NGF chicken and find a rotisserie chicken recipe online you would like. Beth has one cooking now in her crockpot. Here is the recipe she used - Slow Cooker Rotisserie Chicken - Butter Your Biscuit. Be sure to save the bones and make broth!

Many of our customers follow Dr. Ken Berry on YouTube. Dr. Berry argues that when comparing the cost of processed foods to beef (for example), processed foods are more expensive when calculated by the pound. He explains that while processed foods may seem cheaper per serving or package, their high degree of processing and low food nutrient density makes their cost per pound significantly higher than that of unprocessed items like eggs and beef.

What tips have you found to help lower your meal cost while maintaining a healthy diet for your family?

Nature's Gourmet Farm product value proposition is to create a community that evolves around one of the most intrinsically important things of the ages, and that’s the provision of sustenance. That's our passion - to raise healthy food to nourish families and strengthen immune systems.

Our Beef is always grass finished with NO grains. Additionally, our animals are free of mRNA, GMO's (chemicals), Antibiotics, and Hormones. We ethically raise them on diverse forage pastures that regenerates our soils and protects our ecosystem.

Let me encourage you to "Be The Change" our food system needs by "Voting With Your Fork" at every meal.
